- Philip Fritz, Sr. (1844-1932) standing in front of what is likely 411 Bernard Street, Los Angeles, CA wearing a vest and a hat. Philip Fritz, Sr., originally from Alsace, immigrated to America in 1873 and worked as a carpenter and then later for the Southern Pacific Railroad in the Buildings and Bridges department. His wife Louise Schaffner and children Philip W. Fritz, George C. Fritz, and Fred Fritz, joined him in the US in 1884. He built the house at 411 Bernard Street in 1886.
