This office was a branch of the main company which was open in Los Angeles for 23 years. The Ventura branch was only open for several months in 1931. The office building is a one-story house with a bay window on one side. There is a sign for the herb company on the right side of the photograph. The photo in the top right is of a Y.H. Chung standing outside and the other two photos are group portraits taken outside. -

Y.H. Chung and family standing in front of Chinese Herb Company on 917 South Hill Street with A.Z. Holmes. Holmes served as a translator for Y.H. and the building was rented under his name. -
Dun Sow Hong, Marchessault Street
A two-story, brick building on Marchessault Street. The sign on the right side of the picture is for the herb shop Dun Sow Hong which was located at 306 Marchessault Street. Dun Sow Hong was established before 1900 and remained at 306 Marchessault through 1937 at which point the construction of Union Station (which opened in 1939) was well under way. A balcony runs along the second story of the building and in the foreground on the right side of the picture, a man stands beside a parked car. -
